Persecution and threats knocked at my door.
Fear for my life had me rethinking everything.
Images of myself, creative and free,
Tormented those who looked upon me.
I feel no shame for who I once was, am, and have become,
But they hold shame as a weapon, like a gun.
So I turn my eyes inward and forget who they are.
I focus my faith and leap into the well
Gloom swells, tears drown out the echoing screams.
Yet in the abyss, I remember something.
Through shadows and despair, a light begins to spark.
Reminding me of my strength in the midst of the dark.
With each breath, I reclaim the power they’ve denied,
Rising from the depths, unbroken and fortified.
For this is my journey through fear and night,
I discover the essence of my true inner light.
